Philip Fontana manages the global Geoscience support group for the Marine Acquisition Product Line of CGGVeritas. He has been involved in marine geophysical surveys since 1978 and has extensive experience in acquisition technologies, seismic survey design, and technical oversight of data acquisition projects. From 1998 until 2006 he co-instructed the SEG continuing education course, Planning and Executing Marine 3D Seismic Surveys. He has also served as a technical advisor to several industry groups dealing with issues involving potential impacts to marine mammals from sounds generated during seismic surveys. He holds a B.S. in geology and an M.S. in geophysics from the University of Connecticut and is an Active member of SEG, EAGE, and ASA.
